Pradhuman Nayak is an Indian multidisciplinary artist known for his work in traditional folk performance, theater, dance, and cultural preservation. Coming from the renowned Nayak family of Jharkhand, he was raised in a rich artistic environment deeply rooted in Nagpuri folk traditions and indigenous performing arts. He is the son of Mukund Nayak, the celebrated folk singer, dancer, and Padma Shri recipient who played a major role in preserving Nagpuri culture.
From an early age, Pradhuman Nayak trained in traditional Indian performance disciplines, including Chhau dance, folk theater, martial arts, and music. His artistic journey blends classical training with contemporary storytelling, allowing him to perform across theater productions, live cultural showcases, film projects, and international workshops. He has been associated with the family’s cultural troupe, Kunjban, which promotes the preservation and global presentation of Jharkhand’s indigenous art forms.
Throughout his career, Nayak has earned recognition for his ability to bridge traditional and modern artistic expression. His performances emphasize rhythm, physical storytelling, spirituality, and cultural identity, helping introduce Indian folk traditions to audiences in India and abroad. In addition to performing, he has also contributed as a cultural educator and mentor, teaching movement, performance techniques, yoga, and traditional arts practices in workshop settings.
